Hey there! If you're interested in comics, animation, monsters, and video games chances are we have a lot in common.
I started drawing comics with my best friend in middle school and we were pretty sure that's what we would do for life. We both began exploring our love for music in highschool and played in several bands together. Then we knew that's what we would do for life.
My parents are divorced so when my Dad picked me up for the weekends we went to the church where he was a custodian. While he cleaned I would play the organ or piano in the sanctuary, take paper out of the copy machine to draw comics, or steal note pads from the secretary's desk to make flip-books of ninjas slicing each other apart.
The point of this long winded story is that I've always tried to balance my two loves-drawing and music. Drawing to me is a necessary tool and something I have too much invested in to turn my back on. Music is the mandatory therapy that keeps me sane.
I'm always working on my web comic Evan Yeti. You can check it out at www.evanyeti.com
I also have written music for short films commercials and personal enjoyment. You can find some of that stuff here matwashburn.com/
I cut down on commercial projects and even helping friends with projects so I could have some time to see my own ideas through.
Currently writing two other comics, a children's book, short sci-fi story, and always trying to come up with fun new stuff to do with Evan Yeti!
I live in Ohio with my wife Sarah, daughter Olivia, two cats and a wiener dog.
